The Papacy’s claimed mark of authority

In: Letter from C.F. Thomas, Chancellor of Cardinal Gibbons, 28th October 1895.

“Of course the Catholic Church claims that the change was her act…And the act is a MARK of her ecclesiastical power and authority in religious matters.”

In: Catholic record of London, Ontario, 1st Sept 1923.

“Sunday is our MARK of authority ….the church is above the Bible, and this transference of Sabbath observance is proof of that fact”

In: Cardinal Sean P. O'Malley, Pastoral Letter, 20th November 2011.

“The way we celebrate Sunday will affect the way we live the remainder of the week and is a MARK of Christian identity from generation to generation.”

In: Father Enright C.S.S.R. of the Redemptoral College, Kansas City, Mo., History of the

 Sabbath, p. 802.

“It’s the MARK of our authority to over-rule God’s law.”

The above quotations indicate how blatantly Rome has place her own authority above that of God.
